Tactless Morons Still Criticizing Ebert’s Video Game Comments [Click for more]
Video games contain art, but playing them is not an art just like movies and books are art but watching or reading doesn’t make you an actor or a writer or an artist in any way. It just makes you a gaming, film, or literary enthusiast. People who draw and write the story lines for video games are artists, just like actors, writers, designers, and choreographers are artists. Roger Ebert dying isn’t a “win” for gamers because there are some people, like me, who will never consider gaming as an art; it’s not like he dedicated his life to belittling gamers or getting people to stop creating or playing video games. If Ann Coulter died, it’s not a “win” for liberals and humanity even though listening to her makes your intelligence drop and your brain cells beg to be put out of their misery. Unless they murdered your family or something, peoples’ deaths shouldn’t make you happy for the sole reason that they said something you felt insulted by. People are always going to have opposing opinions and someone’s always going to piss you off, but they’re still people. So yeah, when Ann Coulter dies I won’t be on Twitter making light of her death even though she does dedicate her life to belittling liberals and defecating on the process of logical reasoning; even just the titles of her books make a tiny bit of my faith in humanity shrivel up and die inside.
